![]() Stock, a base 1987 944 is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 147 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. It doesn't sound like the Dirtmeister received major mechanical modifications. Coilovers, LED lights, and Pirelli off-road tires further increase the 944's ability to go far off the pavement. Again working with third-party companies, it fitted the coupe with a custom-designed roll cage, Recaro front seats, a PCI race radio system, and a Garmin Baja Tread XL navigation system. Hot Wheels then turned its attention to giving the Dirtmeister the kind of off-road capacity that a stock 944 can only dream of - even the aftermarket, which has been obsessed with 911-based rally-ready builds, has largely steered clear of the 944. The roof line was made flatter, though the overall silhouette leans towards the sporty side of the scale, and the 944 consequently gained a bigger trunk and a third side window. Hot Wheels took a completely different route: It enlisted the help of California-based Kudensport to create a shooting brake. Released as an evolution of the 924, the 944 was offered as a coupe and as a convertible from the factory. Called the Dirtmeister, the model stands out as the first Porsche inducted into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends, and it exists as both a toy car and a real car. Hot Wheels is helping Porsche celebrate its 75th birthday by turning a 1987 944 into an off-roading shooting brake. If (document.Hot Wheels orders up an off-road-modified Porsche 944 - it's a toy car and a real car You won't find this one for a buck at Target Cars might actually make it down the track (not my review, but based off what others have said.) This is just plain stupid and infuriating. Why would you not drill the holes for your customers? Maybe if you did, you would have more loyal folks. My husband has the drill for work today, so my son is now crying in the corner because I can't get this garbage together. ![]() Like other reviews say, there are no pre-drilled holes. I figured it was like other step 2 products, i just needed a screwdriver. My son got this for Christmas and I tried assembling it today. Second, the cars don’t go all the way down! At first it didn’t bother my son, but now he gets frustrated with it. My son absolutely loves this!! its all he plays with these days! He loves that its something he can stand up and play with and not have to sit the whole time and he can add his own track to the end so its customize-able!įirst, the assembly was NOT as easy as I expected for this being a Step 2 toy. This is a Christmas gift for my grandson, we are soooo disappointed!Ĭertainly was not worth the money, and isn’t Step2 quality!! Racing is IMPOSSIBLE without purchasing additional track. More track needs to come with the toy- once it is assembled, it barely reaches the floor on one side, with nothing on the second side of track. The cars will not go thru the entire track- they get stuck and have to be dislodged multiple times. Very difficult to assemble-the holes are NOT pre drilled. This product is disappointing on several issues. He’s been enjoying it but there are times where the orange skinny tracks come off because he likes to glide them himself, but overall it’s a great toy for boys that are into cars. Grandparents purchased this toy for my 2 year old birthday. My grandsons (2 and 3 1/2 years old) played for hours with it on Christmas Day and then packed it up and took it home. Step 2 Hot Wheels Road Rally Raceway, Blue Great product, easy to put together with simple instructions. ![]() I'll return it in the store and strongly not recommend to purchase.
